GET INVOLVED
TODAY!

COME VOLUNTEER WITH US.

Volunteering at the Community Center of St. Bernard is a powerful way to make a direct impact in the fight against food insecurity. Our volunteers are the heart of our operations, helping us distribute food, organize donations, and support families with compassion and care. Every hour given strengthens our ability to serve more people and build a more resilient community. It’s also a meaningful way to connect with neighbors, learn about local needs, and be part of something bigger than yourself. When you volunteer, you’re not just giving your time, you’re giving hope.

FOOD
PANTRY

When you volunteer in our Food Pantry, you help with stocking shelves, receiving deliveries, assisting clients during distribution, and keeping the pantry clean and organized. Volunteers should be able to lift at least 10 lbs, and being bilingual is a great asset as we serve a diverse community.

BACKPACK
PROGRAM

Volunteers in our Backpack Program play a key role in supporting local students by helping pack food bags each week and delivering them to schools across the parish. This ensures children have access to nutritious meals over the weekend when school meals aren’t available. Reliable transportation and a willingness to work as part of a team are important. Your time helps us feed over 250 students every week!

GROUP
VOLUNTEERING

Group volunteering opportunities are available and welcomed at the Community Center of St. Bernard! Whether you're a business, school, church, or civic group, we’d love to work with you to make a meaningful impact in our community.
