Give Thanks, Give Back: The Importance of Donating This Thanksgiving Season

Thanksgiving is for families and friends to come together to spend time with each other and to give thanks over a big meal. Unfortunately, some families can feel like they are being left out when they can’t afford to buy the food necessary for a Thanksgiving meal. This is where food pantries like The Community Center of St. Bernard, churches, charities, organizations, and individuals alike come together to make sure impoverished people within our community are able to eat during this special time of the year.

Why donate during Thanksgiving?

As Thanksgiving approaches, the spirit of gratitude and giving back fills the air. This holiday season presents the perfect opportunity to reflect on our blessings and extend a helping hand to those in need. Donating during Thanksgiving can:

  • Improve your well being

  • Benefit those in need

  • Bring communities together

Ways to donate during Thanksgiving

  1. You can donate to food banks through either:

  2. Monetary donations

  3. Food donations

  4. Donating to Meals on Wheels is a great way to support your local senior citizens by making sure they are getting nutritious meals. Meals on Wheels also provide friendly visits and safety checks.

If you’d like to donate to The Community Center of St. Bernard, we are accepting monetary donations and packaged food items.
